A French alpine luxury of potato, onion, reblochon cheese, cream and bacon, the rich, indulgent, decadent dish is the biggest reason to trek to Herne Hill Market on a Sunday – or, once you’ve tried it, every Sunday. Always buy with cornichons on the side.
Not that tartiflette is the only reason to visit Herne Hill Market. Primarily about its food stalls, but equally about strolling up and down a picturesque South London street before heading to The Commercial for a well-earned drink, it’s an underrated gem.
