Eat at a specialist biryani restaurant

A small but perfectly formed menu

Where: Dum Biryani House

When you spot a restaurant menu that only has three dishes, this is cause for reassurance - no one wants to be a Jack of all trades and a master of none, as the old saying goes. At this Indian joint in Soho the specialty is biryani, the dish where rice is mixed in with all the ingredients along with plenty of fragrant spices. Dum Biryani House offers it done three ways: with lamb, chicken, or a veggie version with mushrooms, chickpeas and potatoes. There are starters too if you're hungry, including chicken wings in hot masala sauce and king prawns fried in chili and coconut. The chef here is Dhruv Mittal who used to be at Heston Blumenthal's Fat Duck, so you know you're in safe hands.
