The Doctor’s Orders are excited to mark the release of feature length Stones Throw Records documentary ‘Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton’ with this official London launch party.

Following a screening and Q&A Stones Throw head honcho Peanut Butter Wolf joins us for a 2 hour AV set. Trusted world wide as a musical tastemaker and arbiter of cool he will be mixing a set of music videos and film clips that have been an influence on him and the releases on his hugely popular record label. From Madlib to J-Dilla, MF Doom to Aloe Blacc and Dam-Funk to Mayer Hawthorne the impact the label has on Hip-Hop and today’s wider music scene can not be underestimated and tonight will help you understand why.

Representing the label’s influence on home shores we have a team of brilliant DJs all of whom would not be spinning, making or releasing the music they are were it not for Stones Throw’s impact. Mr Thing is without doubt the UK’s best Hip-Hop DJ and will often be heard cutting up much of Stones Throw’s catalogue in his floor filling sets. Paul White is one of the school of producers influenced by the work of Madlib and J-Dilla. He has collaborated with Stones Throw artist Guilty Simpson and has the ‘White Sands EP’ coming out this month with Homeboy Sandman on the label.

Alexander Nut has followed in the path of Peanut Butter Wolf in setting up his own hugely popular independent label, Eglo Records, releasing music from Floating Points, FunkinEven, Fatima, Flako and others (who’s names don’t all start with F). As ever bringing the whole party together is Spin Doctor who’s love of J-Dilla is no secret.

Collectively there is little doubt of the weight of these guys’ collections and talent so get ready to celebrate with them as they stand together and shout ‘Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton’
