Tulip Festival

Be astonished as over 100,000 tulip bulbs erupt in colour in one of the UK’s biggest displays of planted tulips.

Celebrate the start of spring with a visit to Hampton Court Palace, as our tulips emerge to herald warmer days to come. Relax in 60 acres of colourful royal gardens as you immerse yourself in Henry VIII’s famous grounds with friends and loved ones. This year, the palace and gardens will be open seven days a week during the Tulip Festival.

Stroll through the courtyards and admire the blooming display pouring out of our Tudor wine fountain, wander through the gardens to see the floating tulip vases, and see our rare, historic and specialist varieties inspired by Mary II's famous 17th century collection. Finish off your visit by treating yourself to a delicious hand-crafted coffee and indulgent cake from our café.

With blooming periods subject to weather, our expert gardeners predict our displays will look their finest in mid-April. Any updates on opening dates will be shared on social media and this webpage.
