Sir Nigel Sheinwald, former Ambassador to the United States, will discuss America's and Britain's changing roles in the world. He will explain why a strong transatlantic relationship nevertheless remains important, and why international engagement by both countries remains in their and the rest of the world's interests. The lecture honours American philanthropist, Robert H. Smith, a key supporter of Benjamin Franklin House, who was passionate about the roots and reach of American democracy.
