Racket makes a hasty return to Brick Lane's musical Mecca Cafe 1001. Following on from a formidable launch party in March, 4 acts will perform on the eve of the Easter Bank holiday.

Gracing the stage will be our selection of Acoustic / Indie / Alternative acts. Think of it as a heads up as to who to keep an eye on throughout 2014.

James Gillespie is an acoustic singer songwriter who combines rock, pop, blues and hip hop influences with his ear-catching vocals to deliver a mesmerising performance. His unique style and entertaining stage presence has attracted an international fan base, with his first album selling out in France. Catch some of his newest tunes which will appear on his forthcoming second album. Having just come off his "No Way Home" tour, selling out venues all over England, James Gillespie is sure to be a household name for years to come.

House of Lions have been together for a year and are currently sharing a flat together in Camden. Their guitar and synth driven sound has drawn comparisons with Foals and Everything Everything, but is given a distinctive edge by singer Ed Vyvan’s confident and soulful vocals. House of Lions just played the O2 Academy in Islington now move onto a massive year for them in 2014. Their single "Uncruel" was released on the 18th March and has already made serious waves in the indie scene. With their first official video sparking thousands of views in its first few hours, it's clear this band has a bright future.

Racket's very own, Ashton, Is only a year into to his musical journey. However, his permanence on the scene seems inevitable. Like so few modern artists, his story appears to effortlessly write itself. Growing in Glastonbury, his sound was carved out before he even realised. With festival lights for inspiration Ashton slowly began to expand his repertoire from simple guitar jams to complex melancholic compositions. Layering cutting, relatable lyrics over emotive melodies, his music has proved enough to melt even the coldest of hearts. Citing influences from Arctic Monkeys to Bon Iver, from Daughter to Jamie T, his live performance will keep you on your toes. With his first single "These Colours" being released any day, Ashton's journey is set to continue.

Playing an acoustic set, British Country Rock singer songwriter Hannah Dorman brings her unique style to the genre. With the emphasis on pop rock, there’s a dusting of country to be heard in all her songs. Lyrically mature, honest and relatable, Hannah delivers her songs with her distinct raw vocal power and a personable presence.Her inspiration and eclectic influences are not obvious but some give resonance to her music. With KT Tunstall as her main influence, Anastasia, Shania Twain, Pretty Reckless and Kelly Clarkson all have their place. This dedicated singer-songwriter will draw you in with her soulful lyrics and catchy melodies.
