The Deep Sea Mining Summit 2014 will bring leading experts from throughout the value chain to debate upon the problems and discuss solutions to drive forward this burgeoning industry.

The growing global demand for minerals and rare earth elements in the recent years, coupled with declining resources on land has got stakeholders interested from across the world to explore the lucrative mineral resources beneath the surface of the seas. The investment opportunity, however, comes with a range of specific challenges; there are regulatory, legal, financial, social and technical issues that have to be resolved to make deep sea mining a commercial reality!

Speakers: Germany, russia, Rule of Law Committee for the Oceans, Interoceanmetal Joint Organization, SOPAC, Institute for Geology and Mineral Resources of the Ocean, (Vniiokeangeologia), Offshore Council, Geomar Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, World Ocean Council, International Marine Minerals Society, Uk Seabed Resources, Cook Islands Seabed Minerals Authority
