Gin School - Citadelle

Every Monday night a different producer will be with us to talk you through their gin and give a tasting. The events are free to attend and there are complimentary drinks – no catches! Please feel free to arrive as early as you like and grab those prized seats round the bar.

Citadelle Gin is produced in Cognac in France using a recipe dating back to around 1771. Citadelle was originally developed in a Dunkirk distillery, and at the time Dunkirk was one of the earliest European ports for explorers of the Orient, who brought back herbs and spices from the Far East. The result is a fabulous gin made with 19 different botanicals including Moroccan Coriander, French Juniper, Mexican Orange Peel and Chinese Liquorice. Citadelle Gin has a fragrant nose of fresh flowers, jasmine, honeysuckle and cinnamon reminiscent of gardens in springtime. On the palate, juniper gives way to a voluptuous complexity redolent of fresh flowers, leading into an elegant, round and highly refined finish.
