Upcycling workshops and courses are all the rage at the moment – as the refit and refurbishment movement gathers pace. It’s about creating something unique that is both beautiful and useful, from a cast-off. In addition, it’s fun to do, a great way to learn a new skill and good for the environment. However upcycling is fast moving away from its original ‘worthy’ roots – now it can also be stylish and chic.

This is the reason why, for the first time, upcycling brand Clio the Muse and Portabello based charity that helps turn waste into gold: Goldfinger Factory, will be joining forces to offer an exciting and innovative workshop, ‘Pallets made Palletable’. Clio Wood, the founder of Clio the Muse, will show how to transform redundant pallets into beautiful wall art and simple pieces of homeware, using classic upcyling and re-purposing techniques, such as painting, collaging and stencilling. She will also demonstrate how to make designs that last.
