On Thursday 17th April, TailSpin presents a pulse-quickening, imagination prickling, clog-tapping evening of stories and live music.

UNDER HER SKIN – with DEBS NEWBOLD and LAUREL SWIFT
Debs Newbold and Laurel Swift bring a defiantly 21st Century attitude to an ancient sea-tale, in a pioneering new work of performance storytelling. Under Her Skin fuses Debs Newbold's highly acclaimed and charismatic storytelling voice with the double bass, fiddle and clog dynamism of Laurel Swift. An epic tale, a modern twist, two voices, four feet and eight strings. Under Her Skin is stand-up storytelling and then some.

Storyteller, word wrangler and crowd tamer Debs Newbold’s unique voice has seen her captivate Shakespeare’s Globe, sell out at Hay Festival and lead 200 grown adults into mischief at the Royal Festival Hall.

Musician, dancer, and composer Laurel Swift is the founder and choreographer of Morris Offspring, who have appeared on BBC2’s Culture Show and sold out the South Bank.

Debs and Laurel have created Under Her Skin in collaboration with renowned director John Wright (Trestle, Told by an Idiot), and with musical guidance from the legendary Frankie Armstrong.

Plus original rag and bones jazz blues folk tunes from WHISKEY MOON FACE. Born into a puddle of whiskey beneath a stark winter moon and raised by cold winds, schooled in the warming spirits and hungry for more, Whiskey Moon Face manage a natural, graceful sound built from many ports.

Plus short stories from other tellers.

Come early to check out The Miller’s brand new menu and to sample their excellent selection of beers, wines and cocktails...
