Still the body to still the mind. In most meditation practices, the physical body remains still. Attention and awareness is focussed on a single point and through regular practice the mind is allowed to settle. Both the physical and mental ‘seat’ need to be steady for a state of Yoga to be experienced. sthira sukham asanam.

Stillness of mind may also be achieved through movement. With the development and evolution of vinyasa (commonly known as flow) practices, students practice physical postures in tandem with their breath which creates a dynamic form of meditation where practitioners can still maintain that same presence of mind even though the body is in motion, in transitions through postures, from place to place, from state to state attention is held in the present moment.

In this workshop we’ll be exploring how to experience stillness of mind through flow, the tools and technologies available within the practice to help focus the mind as we move dynamically in Asana. Mind, body, breath.

Please note that this workshop is not suitable for beginners.
