Join us as the palace takes to its gardens for the Glorious Georges Family Festival, bringing the court of King George III and Queen Charlotte to life… outside!

This summer, families are cordially invited to become courtiers for the day with Historic Royal Palaces, as we bring the Georgian court and its intriguing cast of royal characters to life at Kew Palace. The palace will be turning inside out for the occasion, with a royal Study, lavish Dining room and Powder room appearing in the grounds, waiting to be explored.

Set within Kew’s iconic gardens, the Glorious Georges Family Festival is part of an ambitious new Learning and Engagement programme across Historic Royal Palaces. The event, designed with families in mind, offers a fantastic array of things to see, do and join in with. Visitors can step inside the world of the Georgian monarchs and the palaces they called home as they discover the latest fashions at court, join in family games and have lunch with the king - so remember to pack a picnic!

Before dining with the royal family, learn how to become the perfect courtier. Join the Masters of Etiquette in the Powder Room as they hold master classes in how to achieve success at court- learn how to bow and swordfight before crafting your own Georgian hat to wear for an audience with the monarch. Meanwhile, in the royal Dining Room, decorate a lavish tablecloth fit for a king while uncovering some of the interesting characters from the palaces. Then take some time out to test your artistic talents in a botanical art workshop in our specially created Art Room, or play games in the Study and enter the challenge to think up the next great ‘Georgian’ invention. And if you’ve ever fancied yourself as a public speaker, why not visit the pop-up Parliament, where they’ll be discussing some of the important issues of the Georgian age, and canvassing for your vote!

To discover more Georgian history where it happened, just step inside!
