Latvian teenagers Carnival Youth return to the UK this summer following their hugely impressive UK (and festival) debut at the premier emerging artist showcase event, The Great Escape, in May. Through their first EP ‘Never Had Enough’ out on July 21st, the fresh faced hopefuls demonstrate an artful fusion of the ascetics of folk music with an alternative indie-pop edge; drawing comparisons to the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club. Already booked to perform at some of Eastern Europe’s biggest music festival this summer including Sziget, and Positivus.
The performance at The Lock Tavern will be to celebrate the release of their Never Have Enough EP.
LA TRAPPISTINE
There is so much more to this Reading band than steel strings and some drum skins. The alt indie band were shortlisted to perform at this year's Truck Festival and have previously supported Broken Hands.
UNCLE LUC
Uncle Luc is Surrey born singer songwriter Luke Barham. The debut album due summer 2014.
Luc is a real life Uncle so the name is really no gimmick. Known to his family by this name it was a natural choice. The spelling of Luc however is the French one as there was already an artist in the Hip-Hop world by the name Uncle Luke.
Luc was once in a noisy pop band who over a 10 year period got to do some pretty cool things like play Reading Festival, sessions for Radio 1, countless tours and have their music used in TV and movies. Now he settles for a quieter life as an Uncle.
Huw Stephens was the first DJ to debut an Uncle Luc song on Radio 1 in May this year.
