This opera, in its 20th anniversary year, is unlike anything you’ve ever seen!
Singing sausages, Hollywood hotdogs and a chorus of yodelling frogs, burlesque, barber-shop and big band – Mahogany Opera Group takes audiences on a journey into the darkly-comic, subversive world of HK Gruber’s ‘cabaret opera’ Gloria – A Pigtale.
The company has the most extraordinary vision about bringing opera to a wider audience and this performance – complete with references from David Lynch & Liberace to The Muppets, Star Wars, Orwell’s Animal Farm and Kander & Ebb’s Cabaret – is a world away from traditional opera.
