The celebrated saxophonist, Tony Coe will be playing some of his favourite jazz standards when he pays a special visit to the Ajani Jazz and Grill on August 2nd. He will join the fine vocalist Kate Daniels and pianist John Horler, a man with a formidable reputation himself as a great jazz musician - well-known as accompanist to Dame Cleo Laine.

Popularly known for playing tenor saxophone on The Pink Panther Theme, Tony Coe has featured in many bands including those of Humphrey Lyttelton, John Dankworth, Stan Tracey and Henry Mancini. Tony famously turned down Count Basie’s invitation to cross the pond and join his band and he is the first non-American to receive the ultimate jazz accolade The Jazzpar Prize, otherwise known as the Jazz Nobel. He has worked and recorded with jazz greats such as Sarah Vaughan, Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz and Winton Marsalis and was described by Humphrey Lyttelton as
“... one of the most remarkable and brilliant musicians in the world.”
This is a rare and not-to-be-missed occasion to hear a maestro of the Jazz world
