A pop-up exhibition featuring inventive and inspiring work by Morley College’s Advanced Textile Workshop students, held within the stunning surroundings of Brixton East Gallery. Work on display demonstrates a wide range of traditional and innovative textile forms and techniques, from screen-printed fabrics and wallpapers to three-dimensional sculptural pieces. Selected works are available to purchase.
As part of the exhibition there will also be an accompanying series of FREE drop-in workshops suitable for all ages and abilities. Workshop sessions are as follows:
Felting for Fun

Try your hand at felting a picture, making balls, bracelets, or a felted stone paperweight. All materials provided. Children welcome.
Upcycling Patchwork and Knitting

A practical introduction to hand sewn English patchwork and knitting with waste plastic. Materials provided but please bring scissors, needles and thread and knitting needles if you have them.
Family-Friendly Print
19 July, 12:00 – 16:00
Design and print your own cards, envelopes, bookmarks and stationary at this family-friendly print workshop with workshop leader Mark Amura. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. All materials provided.
Fabric and Paper Collage

Stun your friends by creating a unique fun, mixed media card, small picture or brooch using fabric, stitch, beads, paint and recycled papers.
