Come and enjoy an experiential morning discovering sensory awareness and mindfulness in activity.

We’ll begin the morning in the quiet of our Central London venue (the Quaker Meeting House near Trafalgar Square), discussing the basic concepts and trying them out with “hands-on” guidance; then – after coffee – we’ll go out into the surrounding area to practice Walking with Awareness.

We will then return to base for another session of practical work and some tips on how to keep the practice going.

Intelligent Movement is an activity-based approach to studying the Alexander Technique, a practical embodied mindfulness.

Mindfulness was originally part of Buddhist meditative practice. A secular version of it has in recent times been adopted by psychologists as a means of cultivating self-awareness.

Our unique approach includes the direct transmission of heightened sensory self-awareness through the expert, non-manipulative, “hands-on” work developed by F Matthias Alexander, founder of the Alexander Technique and one of the pioneers of somatic education.
