Disturbance - July 2014 Exhibition

Disturbance is Alexis Marie Sera's first solo exhibition.

Disturbance seeks out the normal and dissects the hidden oddities, the undetected strangeness of behaviours and the irregular perks of being human. Disturbance not only disrupts form and movement, but rewrites an object's definition, their presence in time and the environment. Its purpose of existence does not devalue the object but attempts to recreate a mutation. It does not describe what should have been but what could have been. Disturbance does not assume a higher ground nor a closer level of clarity, and it does not aim to criticise the peculiarities of the subject. It unravels those that disturb us into something beautiful. The uncanny is meant to be trusted. It recognises the ignored and puts it on a spotlight.
