Blending raw, untouched traditional music with genre-crossing fusion performances.

Words escaped us when we discovered this Senegalese gem in the depths of London. Diabel Cissokho is a master of the Kora and Ngoni (west African lute), he is a phenomenal singer and composer, and has enough positive energy to power a small country. Diabel’s virtuosic talent, as well as his expression and sensitivity when playing has brought him much respect amongst his fellow musicians, who cross many genres of music from traditional African, to jazz and Afro-beat. Think Toumani mixed with Etoile De Dakar blended with Saharan, Tinariwen-esque rhythms and a voice unlike any other Griot we’ve found this side of West Africa.
