SPIC MACAY and The Nehru Centre are delighted to be jointly celebrating Virasat 2014 in London at The Nehru Centre from 28 July to 1 August 2014. SPIC MACAY an acronym for Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth is a voluntary movement that touches the lives of over 2 million people every year in 400 cities globally.

The aim of the London Virasat 2014 festival is to introduce the richness of Indian cultural heritage to the London community through Lecture Demonstrations and Concerts to allow the audience to acquaint themselves with the nuances of the various art forms. Involvement of children, youth and local communities is critical part of the aim of the festival.This 5 day festival is aimed at giving an introduction to Indian Classical Music and Dance at the Nehru Centre (8 South Audley Street, London W1K 1HF). There is a Bharatanatyam dance workshop for children by Guru Usha Raghavan (29th July – 3-6 pm) and lecture demonstration programms by Kathak Guru Pratap Pawar (29th July - 6:30 pm), Bharatanatyam Guru Usha Raghavan (30th July - 6:30 pm) and Sarod exponent, Ustad Wajahat Khan (1st August - 6:30 pm).
