A multisensory performance of the iconic classical piece, devised by celebrated singer-songwriter Keaton Henson – who will be opening the evening with a classical set.
This fully immersive version of the Four Seasons combines art installation, classical concert and theatre, guiding both audience and orchestra through the seasons physically. Using light, temperature and other controlled elements the seasons change as the concerto evolves.
The piece has been uniquely arranged for eight cellos and violin by Richard Birchall. It will be performed by critically acclaimed cello octet Cellophony and lead by virtuoso soloist Alexander Sitkovetsky, along with ambient interludes by Henson himself.
Produced by the Barbican in association with Bird on the Wire
