The Canal and River Trust is opening the doors of its pop-up Relaxation Station on one of London's premier towpaths to celebrate International Relaxation Day (Aug 15th).

Stressed out workers, mums and dads, students or anyone in need of some de-stressing are invited to pop in at the de-stress centre where free canal-side head, neck and hand massages will be on offer. Passer-by’s can chill out on our deck chairs on the fake beach while watching the world go by, enjoy a scone and some of our foraged towpath jam, listen to some chill out canal-themed music or enjoy a taster boat trip - all for free and all whilst learning about the benefits of relaxation on our waterways.

The relaxation themed chill-out room is part of the charity’s Campaign for Real Time which aims to publicly champion the benefits of real, quality time and relaxation in today’s increasingly-pressurised world.

The charity believes everyone deserves to have time to relax and get away from it all, whether it’s time spent on your own or with friends and family. For millions of people their local canal or river provides space where they can step out of the pressures of the modern world and experience some real quality time.

We'll be encouraging people to share their two minute relaxation tips using the hashtag #realtime via Facebook or Twitter on International Relaxation Day.
