The London Lions, London's only professional Basketball team, have confirmed that Euro League team, PGE Turow, from Poland will be their opponents at the Copper Box Arena, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday 6th September as a curtain raiser to the new season.

The newly crowned Polish Champions, PGE Turow Zgorzelec, are their country’s representatives in Europe’s top basketball competition.

The Lions, entering their second season on London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park have begun to build the team for the season and expect to put an even more exciting side on the floor. Lions Head Coach, Vince Macaulay said, “We are delighted to have such a respected club as PGE Turow come to the Copper Box Arena, they played last season in the VTB League and the Euroleague and they will do the same again this year. It will be a tremendous test for us and a real opportunity to gaze upon where we would like to be in a couple of seasons. The Copper Box Arena is a natural home for European Basketball and we are keen to use this as a goal for all of us.”

The London Lions embark on the new season, which will start in earnest at the end of September, this game will be the first chance to see BBL MVP, Zaire Taylor and Team GB Captain Drew Sullivan in a Lions vest.
