Ian Cognito is a British stand-up comedian.[1] An iconoclastic performer, Cognito has been compared to Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks, and Jerry Sadowitz.[1]
He also won the Time Out Award for comedy.
Banned from more than a dozen comedy clubs because of his irascible unpredictable behaviour, Cognito delights in playing with audience's sensibilities. He'll win cheers with an emotive speech against domestic violence - then puncture it with a lengthy dance to a Darius Danesh hit in his crotchless lime harlequin costume.His autobiography appeared on Kindle in 2013 and detailed his experiences on the live comedy circuit from the mid-1980s.theatrical production of Malcolm X and the lead role in the stage show Waiting To Inhale.

Since 2004 Bromley Comedy has had some of what are now some of the nation's or the world's finest and funniest comedians from Russell Howard Reg D Hunter, Russell Kane, Sarah Millican, Jack Whitehall, Micky Flannagan, Sarah Millican, Bob Mills and Stephen K Amos and to name just a few. Every now and then these guys come back and see us as special guests, but there's a whole bunch of top acts that we have that are bubbling and ready to break through... Sara Pascoe, Tiff Stevenson, Pat Monahan, Kerry Godliman and many more - Each week you will see a terrific group of 4 - 5 comedy acts including a professional MC. The Opening and Closing acts will be the kind you would see open or headline any top professional club on the circuit. The acts in the middle will be newer acts either hand picked by us after discovery at the Edinburgh fringe or competition winners or recommended by others in the industry as up-n-coming acts to watch...they can go either way.
