New event - Africa on the Square

Africa on the Square, Trafalgar Square, Saturday 11 October 2014

This autumn, the Mayor of London is delighted to introduce Africa on the Square, a brand new event for 2014, as part of his Events for London programme in Trafalgar Square.

This free festival will showcase the best of African culture, with live music from Dele Sosimi's Afrobeat Experience, Aar Manta and others, as well as performances by African drummers, acrobats and dancers, and a live talent show for young people.

There'll also be an African fashion show, food stalls, a market and free family workshops where you can try everything from batic to mosaic making.

Africa on the Square takes place on Saturday 11 October, from noon-6pm, as part of Black History Month 2014.
