The Doodle Bar is delighted to be hosting a selected display of Move art in the coming months, from late September onwards.

Move exhibition:
In the making of Move exhibition all ages from 4 to 83 enjoyed around 110 places across approximately 82 hours of workshops spent with nine professional artists who they otherwise wouldn’t have worked with. Together the collective inspiration of emerging and professional artists alike produced distinct and lively art from scratch, based on their own observations of music, dance and theatre.

Move artists include local residents, artists, charities and a primary school. Christ Church CE, Battersea, WoW Mums, WoW Kids, Haven Lodge and Hebe Foundation youth charity.

Be moved by sculpture:
To celebrate the arrival of Move exhibition, we are hosting a collaborative art workshop, inspired by movement and performance on Sunday 21 September from midday onwards. All ages are welcome to drop in at any time to participate in the open workshop where you will work alongside a professional artist and help to construct a brand new sculpture from paper, card, found objects and light armature. The finished sculpture will become part of the Move exhibition body of work.

The Doodle Bar and independent curator of Move, Mel Barry, share a desire to create new opportunities for artistic connections within the Southwest London community, by hosting community arts events which aim to inspire talent from the grassroots and encourage all art forms and by all ages and backgrounds.

No experience necessary, please bring something to protect your clothing and hands. Children, young and vulnerable people must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. The cost is £2 per person. Free for those 12 yrs and younger if not participating in a workshop.
