INSPIRE YOUR KIDS TO REACH FOR THE STARS AT TECHNOPOP

Technopop is a groundbreaking new science, technology, design & innovation pop-up festival for kids at TIQ Stratford City, London, from 8th October – 2nd November 2014.

Aimed at children aged between 6 and 19 years old, Technopop is free to attend for schools, colleges and youth groups and has been designed to enthuse kids about the STEM subjects over four themed weeks:

Week 1: Looking Up (World Space Week)
Week 2 - In touch with Technology
Week 3 - Built Environment
Week 4 - Sports Science & The Human Body

The programme includes interactive workshops, exciting competitions, careers advice and inspirational speakers, alongside a fully immersive technology exhibition.

There will be family shows from the Science Museum, a Saturday coding club and workshops galore, including building your own rocket car with Bloodhound SSC, the Technology Makeshop from leading digital & brand agency, Wolff Olins, and the largest design & build workshop ever from A Class of Your Own, replicating a professional construction design team, with up to 400 youngsters. Competitions include the VEX Robotics “Build Your Own Robot” challenge and a great “Design Your Own Sparkie” competition from box&rox, the cutting edge new technology for kids that rewards physical activity with screen time using their intergalactic “Sparkie” characters.

Every Thursday will focus on girls and the STEM subjects, with “Inspiring Women” and a stellar panel of female role models from science, medicine, construction, design and business, including Svetlana Savitskayam, the first woman to perform a space walk. There will also be regular workshops from Sciencegrrl, set up to celebrate and support women in science and a weekend Hackathon from the STEMettes, with web learning and coding activities designed to inspire the next generation of females into STEM fields.

Get your kids inspired by STEM at Technopop!
