From 9th – 12th October 2014, contemporary art gallery collective Platform C and their sister gallery in Mexico Distro 14, will present Shaped In Mexico: a free immersive cultural experience on London’s South Bank, bringing together over 20 talented and award winning artists, fashion designers and musicians, all living in or inspired by Mexico. The exhibition within the Bargehouse Gallery (a four story warehouse space within London’s iconic OXO Tower), will feature a diverse range of Mexico’s most exciting contemporary artists, many of whom have gained worldwide recognition for their unique visual works, spanning painting, sculpture, photography, film and multimedia. Highlights will include guided exhibition tours, interactive showcases, Q&A sessions with curator and artists and ‘MexKids & Parents’: An interactive hour-long guide through the exhibition designed to incite and expand the imagination of kids and parents alike.

Shaped In Mexico will feature catwalk shows from world renowned fashion designer Maria Vogel, who’s work has appeared in Vogue, Glamour, Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Nylon and many other leading fashion titles. The show will also present the work of jewellery designer Mani Malaai, currently captivating the fashion world with her distinctive use of crystal quartz and raw materials.

Music will be performed and provided by innovative electronic producer Leo Leal, an in-demand world touring DJ, releasing music on universally respected imprints including Musik Gewinnt Freunde, Kollektiv Turmstrasse Label, Dieb Audio and Inmotion, and Mexico’s godfather of bass music Ezekiel, making waves across the world with his own take on the genre, gathering support from the likes of Diplo, Buraka Som Sistema, Zombie Nation and collaborating with major brands including Adidas Football and Vans.

Modern but authentic Mexican food will be provided by Mestizo restaurant, a favorite haunt for London’s Mexican creative community.

To experience a multitude of diverse contemporary art, sculpture, photography and film, exceptional fashion shows, cutting edge electronic music and mouth-watering modern Mexican food, visit the Bargehouse Gallery in the Oxo Tower on London’s South Bank from 9th – 12th October: Shaped in Mexico will be a unique and exiting cultural event, to be enjoyed by all who appreciate the arts.
