Best known for her work with the band “Lush Life” Jane Parker sings a terrific swinging selection of jazz standards from the 30’s to the 90’s. A highly experienced performer, Jane includes work at venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, Café de Paris and Le Cafconce (Casablanca) on a lengthy and impressive CV. Jane’s hypnotic renditions of classic standards are quite special, possessing a timeless elegance that is both wistful and sweet. Her first CD, “Alligator Lounge”, was recorded with Lush Life for 33 Records while her second, “A Whisper of Love, A Whisper of Hate” is a solo record ‘inspired by her love of cinema’, receiving airplay on radio stations Smooth and Jazz FM. Jane is now working on songs for a new album that you will also be hearing at this gig, accompanied by her excellent band featuring John Crawford on piano, Andy Hamill on bass, Eddie Real on cajon and percussion and Special Guest trumpeter Andy Davies, who is appearing today in honour of Jane’s birthday, which we are also celebrating with her this afternoon. Lovely stuff indeed and should be great fun.

“Jane Parker's breathy vocals, reminiscent of Rickie Lee Jones or sometimes Billie Holliday, are both sultry and steamy as the bayou itself.” Blueprint Magazine;
“Parker is a bon vivant, a kittenish version of Madeleine Peyroux in love with the glamorous ‘old world‘ pleasures of cocktails, vampy femme fatales and indoor smoking, well aren’t we all?” Jazzwise
