NuFado is an intimate work that fuses enchanting melodies and electronic music with contemporary dance and narrative,. A night of dreams, passion, love and loss through the bustling streets of Portugal.

Singer and dancer Nuno Silva will take the audience through a journey to discover the real nature of Fado, the traditional Portuguese music born in the taverns, back street and brothels of 19th century. A dramatic and beautiful atmosphere will be recreated by the eclectic Sabio Janiak, with a unique combination of instruments, beatboxing, loops, electronic sounds and the traditional guitar.

NuFado is about poetry, passion, night, love and loss.

We couldn't have a better place to share this experience with you than The Proud Archivist, versatile venue situated on the vibrant patch of Regent’s canal. A gallery, a restaurant and a bar.

With the option of combining NuFado with a delicious dinner at the venue, this is an event not to be missed!

“Is there no end to Nuno Silva's talents? We saw him as an eloquent dancer with Henri Oguike Dance Company, and as the strutting gym Nazi in Protein Dance's Dear Body he delivered the funniest movement-theatre performance of 2009. In Arthur Pita's full-length work God's Garden, Silva reveals himself as a fine singer of fado, the melancholy song-poetry of Portugal.” Luke Jennings, Guardian

A musician who breaks the stereotypes and intensify musical expression. Sabio Janiak has the ability to play more than 150 instruments. His experience of working together with world famous artists have contributed to enhancing his rare musical sensibility.
