Do you panic when people ask you about Twitter? Do hashtags and handles scare you off? Have you yet to grasp how you as a creative could benefit from tweeting? If your answer is yes to these questions this is the perfect opportunity for you to get to grips with this social media platform.

SAF is organising a small group 2-hour long workshop for creatives on Wednesday 19th November 2014 at 6.30pm-8.30pm in Bermondsey.

This beginners’ workshop will explain

• Introduction to Twitter
• Why be on Twitter
• Elements of a Tweet
• Choosing content
• How to gain followers

The participants are encouraged to bring their handheld devices – mobile phones or tablets to engage with the content throughout the session and put the training straight into practice.

Our previous workshop participants have been from a wide range of creative areas from jewellery design to film and from individual artists to small creative companies.

This session is run by Emily Benet – a writer and social media enthusiast. Her first book Shop Girl Diaries began as a weekly blog, and was commissioned as a book and a short film. The blog was winner of the Completely Novel Author Blog Awards 2010 and has been featured in guidebooks including Blogging for Creatives. Emily has written on the benefits of using social networks, including Twitter, for several publications including Publishing Talk, Writers & Artists, The New Writer and Mslexia. Her guidebook Blogging for Beginners is available online.
