Shiftless Shuffle is a unique phenomenon: it’s a Sunday afternoon Jazz Dance and hard JazzFunk, Brazilian, Latin and BeBop club that is now in its 13th year. Held religiously on the 3rd Sunday of every month, Shiftless Shuffle has people flocking to it from all over the UK, as well as from as far away as San Paulo, Virginia, Japan and Korea. What makes Shiftless Shuffle so different? It’s the only place in the world where you can learn the authentic style of UK Street-Fusion Jazz Dance in an hour long workshop ahead of the DJ led club session. This style was developed in the UK underground clubs such as Electric Ballroom, (iconic club in the early ‘80s), Dingwalls, HiHat and Messin’ Around. Shiftless Shuffle is produced by JazzCotech Dancers who are THE protagonists of the UK Jazz Dance club scene who have performed with major Jazz and Funk Artists around the world and who were recently featured in the BBC's Battle of the Bands at The Proms 2014. Shiftless Shuffle invites anyone who loves to dance, who loves Jazz and JazzFunk music, who loves to club, or simply wants to have a great afternoon out to funky grooved music. The club session features internationally renowned Jazz Jocks who dig deep into their Vinyl collections to challenge the Dance floor, graced by some of the most prolific Jazz Dancers in the UK. But whether you want to come to the workshop and then try your newly-acquired skills on the floor, you’re already an established Dancer, or you simply come to enjoy the music and the environment, whilst watching some great dancing, Shiftless Shuffle is famous for its welcoming, all-encompassing, family vibe. Simply a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

This month, Shiftless Shuffle features one of the Pioneers of the Jazz Dance movement: DJ Paul Murphy who, in the early ‘80s, regularly DJd around the UK spreading the music and showcasing the Dancers. This will be his first appearance behind the decks in two years, and we’re flying him over from Hungary especially for this session! Sunday 16th November is, therefore, not to be missed!
