Arthur Millner- Islamic, Indian, Himalayan and South East Asian Works of Art online auction from 3rd – 6th November 2014 to include a large selection of Hindu and Jain bronzes from a private collection.

Auction Viewing at the 25 Blythe Road Gallery 3rd - 6th November 2014

The next online auction of Islamic, Indian, Himalayan and South-East Asian Art is the largest since Arthur Millner’s first online auction at 25 Blythe Road in April 2013 with over 400 lots. Included are a large selection of Hindu and Jain bronzes from a private collection in Yorkshire built up over the last few decades.

Also strongly represented are some fine Himalayan bronzes, over 100 Indian miniature paintings, Islamic ceramics (Damascus tiles are the subject of Arthur's forthcoming book) and metalwork.

A particular highlight of the Himalayan section are four spectacular sections from a copper gilt arch, from a Buddhist shrine. It was made in Tibet during the 16th or possibly even the 15th century and the style is strongly influenced by the art from neighbouring Nepal, with an estimate of £20,000-30,000. Amongst the nearly 400 lots, estimates range from £200 to £30,000.

On the 4th November 2014, the day after the online bidding opens, Arthur Millner will also be giving a lecture at the Winter Olympia Art and Antiques Fair, entitled ‘Asiatic themes in Mamluk and Ottoman Tiles from Damascus 1400-1800’.

The auction will be available for viewing online from the 27th October at www.25BlytheRoad.com and at the 25 Blythe Road Gallery on Sunday 2nd November to Thursday 6th November. Bidding opens on 3rd and closes on 6th November.
