Five BAFTAs, Four Oscars, Six lobsters And the best of British live comedy.
Our annual celebration of Woody Allen's birthday returns for a third year with a rare cinema screening of one of our favourites: 1993's crime caper Manhattan Murder Mystery which reunited him with his Sleeper, Manhattan and Annie Hall co-star Diane Keaton. Woody and Diane play Larry and Carol Lipton, who become suspicious when their next door neighbour Lilian dies, and turn detective. Also starring Anjelica Huston and Alan Alda, Manhattan Murder Mystery is a delicious blend of The Thin Man and Nancy Drew, as the unlikely sleuths investigate the apparent crime, leading to a dramatic confrontation in an old cinema as all is finally revealed.
After the film we'll head upstairs to the Hackney Attic - and its excellent bar - for live comedy by some of Britain's brightest young comics, including Foster's Best Newcomer nominee and Channel 4 Babylon star THOM TUCK, Time Out Edinburgh favourite JOZ NORRIS, QI Elf and No Such Thing As A Fish star DAN SCHREIBER and writer, actor (Campus, Twenty Twelve, W1A) and Fosters Award nominee SARA PASCOE.
"Claustrophobia and a dead body. This is a neurotic's jackpot!"
