Si Cranstoun, 37, has been signed by Warner Music and is now set to share a stage with his childhood hero.
"I keep looking in the mirror and pinching myself," said Si, who gave up his job as junior postal clerk aged 18 to pursue a career in music.
"I started out as a street entertainer with my brother. It was kind of like a Saturday job.
"All the while you’re doing that, earning a few pennies, you’re getting better and better and then you start getting gigs coming in.
"It’s just one of these gradual sort of things where every year you’re improving and every year the work gets bigger and better and, slowly slowly, you find yourself with a major record deal."
But before being signed Si and his band had already been invited to play the Viva Las Vegas music festival after a promoter spotted their videos on YouTube.
"We were just blown away. Little Richard is coming out of retirement to do one of the first big shows in years and it's just a dream come true to be playing on the same bill as him.
You may also seen Si on U.K TV. Recently he has been on the "The Wright Stuff" The Lorraine Programme WATCH AGAIN HERE and this week the Alan Titchmarsh show
