HUMAN RIGHTS HUMAN WRONGS examines images of political struggle, suffering and victims of violence while considering questions of race, representation, ethical responsibility and the cultural position of the photographer. Presenting more than 300 original prints from the Black Star Collection in New York, the exhibition includes photographs of Civil Rights Movement events such as the Selma to Montgomery March and Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech. It also features images of independence movements in Africa as well as those of protests and conflicts from the Vietnam War to the Rwandan genocide in 1994. This exhibition is a collaboration between Autograph ABP London and The Ryerson Image Centre and is curated by Mark Sealy, Director of Autograph ABP.
