A pioneering conceptual artist, Richard Long has been in the vanguard of Land art in Britain since he created A Line Made by Walking in 1967 and has been making prints for over 40 years. For his first ever exhibition at the Alan Cristea Gallery, Long is presenting a series of monumental carborundum prints – the first time he has used this method—and some of his largest and most colourful prints to date. In his work, Long seeks to achieve, “a balance between the patterns of nature and the formalism of human, abstract ideas like lines and circles. It is where my human characteristics meet the natural forces and patterns of the world.” The exhibition will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue.
