Blak Twang is undoubtedly a cornerstone of UK hiphop. The boy Rotton is as British as bangers and mash, holding down South London via Birmingham and Manchester with a gongheavy mantlepiece, and a collection of air miles best described as 'mega', such is his international acclaim. Twang's debut LP 'Dettwork Southeast' made Hip Hop Connection's Top 5 UK hiphop albums of all time despite being shunned by all major labels in 1996. However, eighteen years on Tony Rotten reaped the justice he deserved when his seminal album was rereleased
by Sony music last September. Blak Twang matters.
