Celebrating two great stars of soul music, with Jeremy Sassoon's 17 piece Ray Charles Project and Liz Fletcher and her quartet (featuring guitarist Nigel Price) performing Nina Simone's classic hits.

The music of this superb double-bill will include many of the greatest hits of these two musical giants. Ray Charles is best known for Georgia On My Mind and Hit The Road Jack and these will be featured alongside Hallelujah I Love Her So, What'd I Say, I've Got A Woman and many more.

Nina Simone's versions of My Baby Just Cares For Me and Feelin' Good are still hugely popular and other gems from her repertoire to be included are I Love You Porgy, Mr Bojangles and Love Me or Leave Me.

Jeremy has performed with his Ray Charles Project on many occasions in London but this is the first time his 17-piece ensemble has been to the capital and it's not to be missed. The sound they create is electrifying with punchy brass, a dynamic trio of backing vocalists, a tight and dynamic rhythm section and Sassoon's soulful voice soaring over the top of it all capturing the essence of Ray's style.

"Sassoon is a charming and witty front-man, one of his skills being that he can make the audience feel immediately at ease, and can relate to the crowd on a personal level. Such an atmosphere made the sold-out crowd applaud wildly for each tune and soak up the infectious feel-good vibe."
(Sarah Ellen Hughes, London Jazz)

Liz Fletcher's rich and expressive voice has long been lauded on the UK jazz scene and the emotional warmth she projects is just perfect for Nina Simone's distinctive and diverse repertoire of great songs.
