As the Syrian crisis enters its fifth year, a Syrian refugee artist, Ibrahim Fakhri, currently residing in the UK will launch an art installation with the British Red Cross to highlight the desperate situation facing almost 11 million people who have fled their homes.
The installation is set against a backdrop of a front door to a family home in the UK with 1461 milk bottles on the doorstep – one for each day of the Syria crisis. Another milk bottle will be added every day of the exhibition as the crisis continues into its fifth year.
With seven million people now displaced within Syria, and the number of Syrians living in border countries rapidly approaching four million, the British Red Cross is calling for urgent support for their Syria Crisis Appeal. The appeal is bringing vital help such as food parcels, hygiene kits, blankets, and cash transfers to people inside and outside Syria.
