Shorts Up brings together upcoming talent alongside established film making figures for a night of short films, music videos, documentaries, live music & networking.

Launch Night Thursday 26th of March at 7pm

Each evening consists of roughly 1h40m of short films, documentaries and music videos with live music before and after the screenings. The venue is located right across the road from Leicester Square Station at the Arts Theatre in the West End. The bar will stay open exclusively for anyone with a ticket after the event for a chance to network and meet other people in the industry.

The launch night will feature award-winning film ‘Last Ditch’ by Ramon Watkins, which won awards at Worldfest and Accolade Competition as well as premiering at the Irvine Film Festival. Also screening are: ‘Quirkology’ by Daniel Quirke selected for Raindance 2014; ‘No Strings Fun’ (Dir. Kieron Clark) nominated for a Van d’Or Award; ‘The Noise’ (Dir. Steve Ramsden) which screened at the London Short Film Festival; YouTube sensation Eline van der Velden; and works from emerging filmmakers such as Steve Ramsden, Oliwia Siem, Andrew Bradley, David Hennessy, Adam Hipkin and Bonnie Marnock. The evening will also feature the talents of jazz band ‘The Throwbacks’ and electronic duo ‘Mechanical Elephant.’

Event submissions exist on a rolling deadline and are still open for anybody to enter the second evening on the 30th April. Tickets are available from the Arts Theatre website for £9 and £10 on the door. See below for a full list of films screening on the night.
