Pinot Noir, loved by many, can be unpopular amongst winemakers due to its reputation as a very difficult grape to grow and vinify; one grower observed that Pinot Noir was made by the Devil! But thankfully hosts of South African winemakers enjoy battling the elements to produce stunning and varied wines - its very sensitivity means the grape picks up any minute differences in the soil, passing these on to the drinker. VB’s owner and a great Pinot Noir fan, Gerrie Knoetze, passionate about wine but South African ones in particular, can’t wait to entertain you with his choices!
