Four Fridays, four top London jazz groups, in various styles and sizes will bring their finest numbers to the heart of Bethnal Green.

• 1 May | William Symington's ReBel Yell Jazz Orchestra

The Rebel Yell Jazz Orchestra plays the music of Francy Boland. It was founded to pay tribute to the music of the Kenny Clarke-Francy Boland Big Band, one of the greatest modern jazz formations. In its time, the cream of European and expatriate American jazz musicians brought to life some of the most beautiful, exciting and challenging music played by a big band. The Rebel Yell Jazz Orchestra is proud to present this music.

• 8 May | Liam Dunachie Quartet

The Liam Dunachie Quartet brings together an exciting mix of musical personalities including Carlos Lopez-Real, professor of jazz at the Guildhall school and highly respected jazz musician and educator; Misha Mullov-Abbado, a recent winner of both the Dankworth Jazz Composition Prize and coveted Kenny Wheeler Prize, and David Ingamells, one of the most in-demand and young drummers to emerge onto London’s jazz scene in recent years. This quartet explores Liam’s modern jazz compositions, seamlessly integrating intricately composed music with ample space for improvisation throughout the band, exploring some unusual rhythmic ideas and harmony while always retaining a sense of melody and lyricism at its heart.

• 15 May | Aldevis Tibaldi London Jazz Ensemble

Aldevis Tibaldi's London Ensemble delivers beautiful music that stirs the emotions of listeners with all tastes. Although the genre is jazz, the tunes are accessible, unpretentious and exude charm, passion and many a delicious groove. With the exception of a few choice covers, this dynamic set is all original material, written and composed by Aldevis. At times driving and powerful, at times delicate and lyrical, the sextet performs with superb unity for the song. Whether you love jazz or you’re simply not sure, this group is a must hear!

• 22 May | Frank Griffith sextet

The Frank Griffith Sextet will sport a scintillating set of modern mainstream jazz. The music of Cedar Walton, Benny Golson, Tadd Dameron and Joe Zawinul along with the leader's pieces will be on order for the evening. American saxophonist Griffith will be joined by top Brit Brassmen, Ed Benstead (trumpet) and Rob Dowell (trombone) and a rhythm team to die for.
