Former spy, politician, animal rights crusader, conservationist, father of Boris, larger-than-life and a born raconteur, Stanley Johnson will be discussing his uproarious second volume of memoirs.

One-time spy, politician, animal rights crusader, conservationist, Stanley Johnson is passionate about animal welfare and the environment and has received awards from the RSPCA and WWF. He has been a member of the World Bank and the European Commission. But above all he is a born raconteur with a huge ability to laugh at himself when things go wrong. In his second volume of memoir 'Stanley, I Resume' he continues to entertain us with hilarious anecdotes, including falling out of a tree on his 40th birthday, horrifying Margaret Thatcher with his cocktail party repartee, climbing Kilimanjaro (twice) and navigating the turbulent rapids of parenthood. Joan Bakewell says, 'In his usual ebullient style, Stanley chronicles the ups and downs of a remarkable life; whether it s as an MEP, an environmentalist or a novelist, he brings the same passionate enthusiasm to whatever he does, scattering goodwill and friendship as he goes.' This promises to be a lively literary event. Questions from the audience are encouraged.
