If film lights your fire, you are passionate about history or just want to be part of making a major documentary on the life of an extraordinary figure, then WORLDwrite could be exactly what you’re looking for.

Building on more than 15 years of filmmaking experience, with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the charity WORLDwrite is making a major documentary on CLR James, the Trinidad born author of Black Jacobins who put slave revolts and the fight against colonialism on the map.

This is a rare opportunity to enjoy an introduction to filmmaking while gaining direct, hands on camera and production experience. CLR James believed Every Cook Can Govern. WORLDwrite believes everyone can film and are providing free camera training to prove it. Everyone gets credited and we offer opportunities to meet industry professionals too.

Whether you have never picked up a camera or are a seasoned film Director, our doors are open to everyone at WORLDwrite. There will be an introductory session on Thursday 23rd April 2015 at 7.30pm at our centre in Hackney, London E5. Everyone interested will need to apply in our website below.

The charity also offers internships and work experience placements.
