Variations Exhibition featuring Giuseppe D’Innella, Jayson Lilley and Anna Masters

Variations brings together the work of three established London-based artists, Giuseppe D’Innella, Jayson Lilley and Anna Masters. Showcasing of new and previously unseen work, the artists present a varied exhibition with works ranging from painting and screen printing to mixed-media sculpture. The artists’ diverse practices come together for the first time in a celebration of bold colour, sumptuous texture and intricate forms.

About the Artists

Giuseppe D’Innella
Bold colours, expressive marks and strong compositions define the style of Italian artist Giuseppe D’Innella. Having lived and worked around the world for many years before settling in London, his works reflect a diverse range of influences and utilise a striking palette that evokes a sense of warmth and luminescence reminiscent of his time in Italy, South America and Australia. Having started his artistic career as a landscape painter, Giuseppe now focuses his practice on screen-printing, building up numerous layers of colour to produce visually complex abstract works. Giuseppe has exhibited in group and solo shows in England and internationally in a career that has spanned decades. This exhibition is the first major presentation of Giuseppe’s new abstract works on Perspex, for which he states his ambition as “to create a truly unique colour”.

Jayson Lilley
Jayson Lilley achieved acclaim for his striking images of London landmarks, including Battersea Power Station and the OXO Tower. His work is characterized by its strong compositional form and a limited palette, where he uses high contrasts with light and shadow to convey form and silhouette. Jayson draws his inspiration predominantly from his environment, and particularly, the hustle and bustle of city life. His recent paintings focus on social scenes within the city, studying the ways in which people interact with the urban landscape and subtle exchanges between people. Jayson is represented by galleries across the UK and America, whilst his screen prints have been reproduced extensively around the world, including clients such as Habitat. Variations showcases new works that focus on the ways in which people experience their physical landscape and life in the city.

Anna Masters
Anna Masters is a mixed media artist, creating wall-based works, sculpture and site-specific installations. Using a delicate system of clear nylon threads she suspends organic and found materials, which appear to float in space. The works toy with the idea of capturing a perfect, inexplicable moment, and the ways in which we resist time and change. Anna has exhibited widely across the UK and internationally, and has been involved in various high-profile public art projects such as Elephant Parade and the City of London Festival. This exhibition showcases new three-dimensional works in for the first time in London.
