The hugely popular summer cultural festival returns bigger than ever. Enjoy lunchtime concerts from the Royal College of Music, a major art exhibition, special services, a symposium and three very major events.
There are two exclusive performances of the acclaimed, site-specific production of TS Eliot’s The Murder in the Cathedral staring Philip Franks on Wed 3 & Thu 4 June. A home-coming of sorts as Saint Stephen’s was the church where TS Eliot worshiped.
The Orpheus Sinfonia present a rare chance to hear Haydn’s The Creation sung in the original German, featuring three top soloists – soprano Gillian Keith, tenor Nicky Spence and bass-baritone Andri Bjorn Robertsson – on Sat 6 June.
Following a symposium on TS Eliot, acting legends Edward Fox and Joanna David will read a selection of Eliot’s much-loved poetry on Tue 2 June.
