On Thursday 21st of May, we would be delighted if you could join us for the event ‘The Well of Trapped Words, with Sema Kaygusuz and Maureen Freely’, running as part of Turkish Literature Evenings at SOAS. In celebration of Sema’s work appearing in English for the first time, SOAS have organised this discussion between author and translator in which we will hear reflections upon Turkish Literature, translation and never before heard extracts from the forthcoming Comma Press publication, The Well of Trapped Words.

Sema Kaygusuz, one of Turkey’s leading female writers and author of The Well of Trapped Words, will be talking about her work, alongside the collection’s translator, Maureen Freely, renowned translator of Orhan Pamuk and president of English PEN.

The event will be held in Room 116 at the SOAS Main Building, Russell Square in London at 6pm. More information about the event can be found here, or alternatively you could contact Yorgos Dedes at [email protected]. Its FREE!
