Sid Griffin & The Coal Porters with support from Porchlight Smoker.

Sid Griffin & The Coal Porters

"The Coal Porters return to The Half Moon with their new lineup. Ex-Long Ryder Sid Griffin's posse is now bolstered by fiddle virtuoso Kerenza Peacock (heard on all the recent Adele and Paul Weller hits) and Kent banjo legend Paul Fitzgerald, the two making this lineup the Coal Porters strongest yet.

With a new album just out, produced by the legendary John Wood (Fairport Convention, Squeeze, Beth Orton), and a series of rave reviews for their recent live performances in Europe, this is a night you do not want to miss!"

Porchlight Smoker

"Often described as the 'real deal', Porchlight Smoker play a varied and at times virtuoso repertoire that mixes self-penned works with covers made very much their own. A range of instruments, including banjo, guitar, lapsteel, stand-up bass and mandolin, even clarinet, accompany the band's trademark four-part vocal harmonies.

Porchlight Smoker's live gigs show off the band's multi-national songwriting talents, with Scott Smith, from Wichita, Kansas, bringing his extensive knowledge of the American folk tradition, Scotsman Steve Bell's Celtic influence, and London born Fred Gregory's very English identity all combining to form the band’s unique and exciting sound. The band recently undertook a national tour to support the release of their third album, Water Into Sand, recorded with Oysterband producer Al Scott."
