Chris Simmons showcases new material from self-titled EP, along with single launch "Rabbit in the Tail Lights".
Brighton based, heartfelt songsmith Chris Simmons spent his youth indulging in the musical greats - Elvis Costello, Turin Brakes, Scott Walker, Simon & Garfunkel and the calibre of such influences is certainly reflective in his songwriting - elegant, mesmerising and haunting.
He has also took to the stage with some big names recently including Seth Lakeman, The Maccabees, Passenger, Suzanne Vega and Kate Nash to name but a few.
Mentioning Squeeze as a definite influences, Simmons has found himself closely affiliated with Chris Difford with whom he's both written and performed.
** MUSIC WEEK **
"You can't also help but notice a McCartney influence in Simmons' songwriting which is attracting collaborations with Chris Difford (Squeeze) amongst others. Seriously one to watch."
** ARTROCKER **
"It's a rare occurrence when a singer-songwriter makes you really sit up and take notice off of the back of one single. However, When The Walls Come Down achieves just that!"
** TOM ROBINSON // BBC 6 MUSIC **
"British, brooding and expansive songwriting..love it".
** THE 405 **
"If you like Damien Rice, David Ford and Matthew Jay, then you need to give Simmons a listen".
